At Analytic Design Lab in Plain City, Utah, Dandy Nugraha is learning what it means to solve problems without always having a clear set of instructions. As a software analyst intern, he works across software, digital logic, hardware, research, testing, and technical documentation—experience that is helping him connect his computer science education to the demands of a professional career. Majoring in computer science, this internship provides him with experience that will influence his future career, adding to the stacked arsenal of entrepreneurial experience he’s previously honed himself.

For many college students, summer is a time to kick back and relax. But Angelou Revil Pacia, a junior from the Philippines studying psychology and political science at BYU–Hawaii, is spending her summer researching policy and developing legislative proposals at the Hawaii Senate.

Thrown into the Deep End

When Buyan-Ochir (Buyka) Khandsuren first walked into the Asia-Pacific Career Conference (APCC) at BYU–Hawaii, he never imagined it would lead to an internship with Coca-Cola in Mongolia.

Aliah Flores, a senior from the Philippines double-majoring in TESOL and psychology, began planning her internship earlier this year. She knew she wanted more than classroom credit. She wanted an experience that would prepare her for life after graduation, immerse her in another culture, and test the skills she had learned at BYU–Hawaii.
