Biography
Blake Knecht is an Assistant Professor of Communication & Film at Brigham Young University–Hawaii. She earned her MFA in Documentary Media from Northwestern University, and her B.A. in Media Arts Studies at Brigham Young University with a minor in Environmental Science. Blake’s creative research culminates in documentary and experimental films. Her work often involves hand-altering film, alternative printing, and exploring sustainable approaches to image-making in alignment with her interest in ecological storytelling. She explores landscapes as evolving narratives, tracing the relationships between land, labor, and movement.
