Biography
'Itanoa Vanessa Nau is an IT Business Analyst Associate in the Office of Information Technology at Brigham Young University–Hawaii. In her role, she works closely with departments to understand their IT needs and challenges, gather and document business and technical requirements, analyze and improve existing processes, and coordinate efforts across departments, vendors, OIT teams, and CES institutions. She also supports the evaluation and implementation of technology solutions, system testing, training, rollouts, and the tracking of project needs, risks, decisions, and outcomes.
'Itanoa graduated from Brigham Young University–Hawaii in 2026 with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. During her time as a student, she worked with the Office of Information Technology for three years, gaining valuable hands-on experience that helped prepare her for her current role.
One of the things she enjoys most about her work is the opportunity to work with students and help them develop the skills and experience needed to achieve their goals. She especially values being able to provide students with meaningful, capstone-experiences similar to those that helped shape her own growth as a student.
Outside of work, 'Itanoa enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, having movie nights, and trying new outdoor activities. She was raised in the Kingdom of Tonga and also served a full-time mission there in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the unique challenges of that time, she deeply valued the opportunity to serve and spend time among her people.
