Biography

John K. Kaaloa, Jr. is an accomplished audio engineer with extensive experience in live broadcast and event production. He has contributed his expertise to major networks and organizations including ESPN/Disney, CBS, NFL, and PBS, specializing in setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting of complex audio systems. In addition to his freelance career, he currently serves as an Audio Engineer at Brigham Young University–Hawaii.

John earned his B.A. in Communications from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and holds multiple professional certifications, including Eagle Scout, Army Combatives Master Trainer (Level 4), Jujitsu Black Belt. His diverse background also includes roles in photography, media production, technology consulting, and higher education instruction.

Rooted in service, John has dedicated years to volunteer leadership in his church and community, including serving as Bishop over the Aliamanu Ward congregation. Originally from Hawai‘i Island, he brings a deep commitment to excellence, creativity, and community connection to all his work.
