Biography

Tserennyam Sukhbaatar is the first Mongolian faculty at BYU–Hawaii. He has more than 14 years of marketing experience. Prior to accepting a full-time teaching position at the university, he was the Director of Analytics and Innovation for Barloworld Mongolia, a Caterpillar dealer. He also worked in the largest consumer electronics retailer in Mongolia, the BSB Service, for eight years as a marketer. In BSB, he marketed, branded, and promoted global brands such as Samsung, Electrolux, Acer, Dell, Apple, Sony, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba, LG, Delonghi, BRW, Indesit, Fagor, and so on.

He received his bachelor’s in business administration from the International University of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, with an emphasis in marketing; a bachelor’s in business management from BYUH with an emphasis in Marketing and Supply Chain, and a Master’s of Business Administration from the Woodbury School of Business at Utah Valley University. Born and raised in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Tserennyam attended a local secondary school.

He met his wife, Enkhchimeg Ayurzana while attending the local kindergarten in Mongolia. They went to the same secondary school and were classmates. They are the parents of four children. He enjoys playing soccer and running.
