Duties: 

  • Create policies and processes for the management, preservation, and stewardship of the institutional memory of BYU–Hawaii  
  • Create and maintain accessible, retrievable computer archives and databases for manuscripts, photos, audio/visual materials, and artifacts (i.e. Mukurtu, ArchivesSpace)
  • Set priorities and develop workflows for the digitization of audio/visual, manuscript, and photograph collections  
  • Develop Finding Aids and classification systems to facilitate access to archival materials

Graduate Intern – University Archives, Aug 2016 – Dec 2016
Duties: 

  • Conceptualized, designed, and created two archival exhibits featuring Latter-day Saint labor missionaries, the construction of BYU–Hawaii, and the spiritual development of the institution.
  • Created an online exhibit to complement physical exhibits on the building and development of BYU–Hawaii
  • Conducted content research in the University Archives  
  • Interviewed living labor missionaries in Laie who participated in the original construction of BYU–Hawaii (Church College of Hawai‘i), and their descendants

Duties: 

  • Composed all BYU–Hawaii department curriculum change proposals and implemented all approved changes in the university online catalog, on Major, Minor, and Certificate Requirement Sheets  
  • Managed and implemented all Drupal updates to Curriculum, Academic Calendar, Registrars, Faculty Resources, Academic Advising, and Catalog webpages
  • Utilized PeopleSoft Recruiting Solutions to create all faculty job postings and manage applicant data
  • Coordinated all onboarding of new faculty, volunteers, and service-missionaries
  • Assisted Associate Academic Vice Presidents of Curriculum and Instruction with administrative needs, i.e. travel arrangements, meeting agendas, calendaring, correspondence, scheduling

Academic Calendar Changeover Project Lead, July 2014 – Oct 2014
Duties: 

  • Directed group effort to implement a major change in the structure of BYU–Hawaii Academic Calendar
  • Coordinated the New Academic Calendar information campaign through information booths, posters, student forums, campus bulletins, and faculty emails
  • Led collection of course-frequency data for all major courses affected by New Academic Calendar change
  • Managed organized group updates of all degree Major Requirement Sheets (MRS), the BYUH Online Academic Catalog, and the MAPPER Academic Plan online scheduling tool

Assistant Professor - Theatre, Jan 2020 – present
Duties: 

  • Taught and developed course curriculum for BYU–Hawaii Fall & Winter course THEA 115– Introduction to Theatre, focused on performance analysis, theatre history, and elements of production
  • Facilitated applied theatre production techniques in the Spring 2021 THEA 285R – 24-Hour Theatre Project

Artist in Residence – Performance Director, Jan 2011 – Mar 2011
Duties: 

  • Developed course curriculum for BYU–Hawaii Winter 2011 THEA 285R - Theatre Repertoire course to take students on a journey from literary script to theatrical performance
  • Directed THEA 285R student cast in BYU–Hawaii Theatre Department Winter semester Drama performance of Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan
  • Taught principles of theatrical stage performance: acting, movement, costume, scenery, stage lighting, dramatic timing, and makeup
  • Instructed in 4-hour cast rehearsals 5 times a week with THEA 285R student performance cast (16 members)
  • Designed thrust-stage scenery, light set-up and cues, and character-blocking

Premised on Care: Restorative Justice in American Archives (Honolulu, Hawaii)

  • Advisor for IMLS-funded project entitled “Premised on Care: Redescription as Restorative Justice in American Archives”
