Professor Watkins currently serves as the Accounting Program Lead and teaches courses in Financial Accounting, Business Law and Ethics, Financial Computing, and Data Analytics. He joined the BYU-Hawaii faculty in 2011 after an 18-year career as a business litigator in Southern California. Professor Watkins graduated from Brigham Young University in 1993 with a law degree and Master's of Accounting in Taxation, having also successfully completed the requirements of the BYU Honors Program. In 2018, he was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant by the Hawaii State Board of Accountancy. His research centers on the teaching of accounting using computer-aided instruction. Prof. Watkins and his wife, Cindi, have five daughters, four sons and ten grandchildren.
