Biography

Jill Kehaulani Thompson is the newest BYUH Student Development Coordinator. She was born in San Francisco, Ca and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jill has lived in San Diego, New Jersey, and Laie. Jill is Samoan, Hawaiian, and Irish. She received her college education through the University of Hawaii system with an AA in Liberal Arts (Windward Community College), a BA in Sociology (UH-West Oahu), and a master’s degree in Social Work & Public Health (UH Manoa-Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health).
Jill is experienced in cultural competency, conflict management, & problem solving; she believes a strength-based approach is the most effective way to provide positive outcomes in these areas.

Jill is a mother of four children, twin daughters and two sons. She is a grandmother to six grandchildren with number seven due in February 2024. Jill loves her family. Her foundation is rooted in Jesus Christ. She is inspired through serving others and feels joy when she can serve. Jill’s hobbies include bodysurfing, hiking, biking, kayaking, watching movies, and listening to music from the 70’s & 80’s.
