Biography
Karen Keesing began serving as the Collections and Cataloging Librarian at the JFS Library in September 2025. She brings a diverse background in librarianship, having previously worked for the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System in Kahuku, Pacific Rim Christian University, and a variety of public and corporate libraries on the mainland.
Born and raised in the Chicago area, Karen attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she earned her degree and, as fate would have it, met her husband on a blind date. They have two sons, Nicholas and Gabriel, who are currently attending college in Washington State.
Outside of the library, Karen enjoys hiking, reading, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
