LJ Sikahema has roots in both sides of his family on the North Shore but grew up in the Philadelphia area. After serving a Mandarin speaking mission in Hong Kong, LJ graduated from BYU in Provo, before going on to receive a Juris Doctor degree from BYU Law School. Prior to joining BYU–Hawaii as the new Title IX coordinator, LJ and his wife Kaylie founded the educational company Lokua Labs, which teaches students to see the interdependence of such forces as economics, politics, history, science, the arts, and geography.
