LJ Sikahema has roots in both sides of his family on the North Shore but grew up in the Philadelphia area. After serving a Mandarin-speaking mission in Hong Kong, LJ graduated from BYU in Provo, before going on to receive a juris doctor degree from the BYU J. Reuben Clark Law School. Prior to joining BYU–Hawaii as the new Title IX/disability coordinator, LJ and his wife, Kaylie, founded the educational company Lokua Labs, which teaches students to see the interdependence of such forces as economics, politics, history, science, the arts, and geography. LJ and Kaylie are the parents of three boys and one girl.
