David is the son of Pam and David Aupiu Sr. and was born in Provo, Utah, while his father was playing football at BYU. He was raised in Los Angeles, California (Compton/Torrance) and lived there until he left on his mission in 2003. He played football for Montana State University for a couple of years before leaving for his mission. David served his mission in the Chile Osorno Mission.
David loves jobs that allow him to work and communicate with others. He was a Lead Agent for Delta Airlines for many years and is now in the Ho’okele Department under Career Services. He loves helping others believe in their potential and guiding them to achieve their goals. He believes in the importance of our Youth and has worked with adolescents who struggle with substance abuse and behavioral disorders. He has also had experience as a psychiatric social worker for the Department of Health here in Hawaii where he worked with adults with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI).
David met and married his best friend, Savani, who is from Laie, while they were dancing for the BYU Performing Arts group “Living Legends” and they are the parents of 3 beautiful and energetic children. He is proud to admit that his family is what brings him the most joy. He is fluent in Spanish, loves the beach, loves all sports, loves music, and loves traveling the world with his family.

Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Ethnic Studies (Independent Studies Major) from BYU-Hawaii.
Masters of Social Work from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Licensed Social Worker in the state of Hawaii.

Pacific: Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, American Samoa (US), Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands.
