Rebecca Carlson has an undergraduate degree in physics from Brigham Young University, where she volunteered at the Summerhays Planetarium. She worked as a research assistant in theoretical astrophysics at Los Alamos National Laboratory, taught algebra at Utah State University, and has taught algebra, quantitative reasoning, physics, and physical science online at BYU-Hawaii. She is married to Russel Carlson, who teaches mathematics at BYU-Hawaii. They are the parents of five children. Rebecca enjoys spending time with family, playing the harp, writing, reading, going to the beach, and learning new things.
