Steve and Janet Larson are from Houston, Texas, and are the parents of five children and 10 grandchildren: two girls and eight boys. Elder Larson spent 35 years as a statistician for DuPont and then taught statistics at Sam Houston State. He is teaching in the BYU–Hawaii Math Program and supervising the math lab tutors. He is also an avid BYU football fan.
He has since returned home, but still teaches for the BYU-Hawaii Math Department.
