Biography
Tracie Carter serves as the Marketing and Assessment Manager for the Joseph F. Smith Library, where she leads the integration of marketing, communications, web strategy, and data-driven assessment. Her professional experience spans higher education, non-profit leadership, community engagement, and strategic communications. Prior to joining the library, she served as Director of the AmeriCorps Youth Mental Health Corps for Boys and Girls Clubs of Utah County and as Communications and Training Specialist for Brigham Young University’s Integrity and Compliance Office.
Tracie earned a bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a minor in Near Eastern Studies from BYU. Her academic experiences included studying at the BYU Jerusalem Center and participating in Model United Nations and Model Arab League. These opportunities led to an internship with a United Nations-affiliated NGO in New York City and later to extensive work in nonprofit grassroots development in Washington, D.C.
Originally from Kennewick, Washington, Tracie is passionate about fostering meaningful opportunities for engagement and learning that strengthens communities. After spending a decade raising her young family in Germany and seven years in Utah, she recently relocated to Lāʻie with her family. Outside of work, she enjoys playing sports, traveling, cultural experiences, and time at the beach with family and friends. She and her husband, Ryan, are the parents of five children.
