Biography
Elder and Sister Patton serve in the Academic Commons program teaching courses on study and life skills for success at the University. He and his wife Wendy previously served as missionaries in the International Teacher Education Program (ITEP) in Fiji. Elder and Sister Patton are experienced educators having taught at major universities as well as in public education. Elder Patton also served as a missionary in the Japan Kobe Mission. Elder and Sister Patton have seven children and 27 grandchildren.
Elder Patton’s career spans a wide variety of experiences including professor of public administration and policy at the University of Utah and Boise State University, Director of the Center for Public Policy and Administration at the University of Utah, Executive Director of the Utah Department of Health, President of Molina Healthcare of Utah, and Chief Labor Negotiator for Salt Lake City. Elder Patton holds a Ph.D. from the University of Utah and an MPA from Brigham Young University as well as degrees in economics and political science.
