Sarah Xiaoyu Zhang currently serves as an adjunct accounting faculty member and accounting manager at Brigham Young University-Hawaii (BYU-H). She is a dedicated and accomplished scholar and professional with a strong foundation in accounting, business management, leadership, and international trade. She graduated from Chongqing University with a bachelor's degree in international trade in 2002, then from BYU-Hawaii with a bachelor's degree in 2012, from Argosy University with a master's degree in business administration in 2016, and from Northcentral University with a doctorate in business administration in 2024.
Sarah’s doctoral research focused on accounting efficiency and organizational effectiveness under different leadership styles. Her doctoral dissertation was titled “Influence of Servant Leadership on Accounting Functionality Through Changing Organizational Climate in Nonprofits.” This work demonstrates her deep commitment to promoting accounting, leadership practices, and operational effectiveness in nonprofit organizations.
Sarah is passionate about student success and education. Known for her approachability, helpfulness, and ability to listen, she enjoys communicating with students, sharing her personal and professional experiences, and providing guidance for their academic and professional development. Sarah likes to explore and research more in accounting education, data analytics, hybrid learning, and digital learning, and she focuses on teaching financial and management accounting currently. She brings academic excellence and practical insights to the classroom, creating an engaging and dynamic learning environment.
