The song was composed for scene three of the play which depicts the story of “The Song of the Kapa Log,” published in The Water of Kāne and Other Legends of the Hawaiian Islands, compiled by Mary Kawena Pukui and retold by Caroline Curtis, Kamehameha Schools Press, Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, 1995.

This grant targets three domains of oral proficiency growth: grammar, fluency, and Hawaiian perspective. Workshops are provided for Hawaiian Language Immersion Program (HLIP) teachers and families. Curriculum materials and books are developed and distributed to 15 HLIP schools. My role has been as a co-writer, Principal Investigator, and Project Director.
