Biography

Aubrey Merrill is a BYU–Hawaii alumna now working as the Public Affairs Manager. In this role, she oversees the university’s digital voice and institutional storytelling through social media and the BYUH Newsroom. With a professional background rooted in the Church Educational System and a BFA in Painting & Illustration, she brings a unique blend of strategic discipline and visual expertise to the Marketing and Communications team.

Academic Vice President Isaiah Walker announced the appointment of Dr. Spencer Ingley and Dr. Amanda Wallace as co-directors of the Edward D. Smith Center for Learning & Teaching (CLT) at Brigham Young University–Hawaii. Ingley began serving in the role on September 1, 2025, and Wallace began her appointment on January 1, 2026.

Iosepa Returns to Sea for FestPAC Hawai'i 2024

Iosepa, the traditional Hawaiian voyaging canoe of Brigham Young University–Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC), has set sail once more, marking its first voyage after eight years. On May 30, the Iosepa embarked on a month-long journey that includes its participation in the 13th Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture, held across the island of Oahu, Hawaii. FestPAC kicked off last week and runs through June 16 with the theme “Ho'oulu Lāhui: Regenerating Oceania,” bringing together diverse people and cultures from all across the Pacific.
