Biography
Ember says she and her husband, Royden’s, dream of both being doctors in a small town began after only a couple of dates. She and Royden got engaged after three weeks and started making plans to go to medical school together and raise their children in a small-town setting. They have followed that dream for the past 28 years. They finished their schooling at BYUH in 1993, went to medical school in Missouri, and did their residencies in Arizona. They ended up spending 15 years in Washington where Royden worked in a local clinic and Ember worked night shifts in the emergency room. They raised their three children tag-teaming. They moved to Laie three years ago when Royden started working for Health Services. She worked at Kahuku Medical Center until she got the job at BYUH’s Health Center working with her best friend and husband as her partner.
