Jared Marcum was raised in Nevada and Idaho before serving as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Hong Kong Mission. Soon after his mission, he met and married Stephanie Porter. Together they have four children: Alison, Sariah, Grant, and Isaac. Jared spent eight years working for Seminaries and Institutes where he taught release time seminary and assisted in developing the online seminary programs. Jared is currently an Associate Professor in Religious Education at Brigham Young University–Hawaii. Over the past ten years, he has also served as the Director of Online Learning and the Director of the Center for Learning and Teaching at the university. Jared holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences from Utah State University.
