Biography
Maurice joined BYU–Hawaii in February 2017. He possesses a profound passion for empowering the rising generation to unlock their full potential as leaders in their families, communities, chosen fields, and the Church. Before his time at BYU–Hawaii, he worked as a private wealth advisor for First Hawaiian Bank and as a financial advisor for Merill Lynch.
Born and raised in Laie, Hawaii, Maurice has deep ties to the community. He served as a missionary in the Japan Tokyo South Mission, a bishop for the Laie Park YSA Ward, and the first counselor in the Laie Hawaii Married Student Stake presidency. He enjoys surfing, golfing, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Mama’o Haunga, have five children.
